Coconut crab

What is really amazing about this creature ?

They live on the most isolated island in the pacific, Metoma Island, in Vanuatu.

The coconut crabs are the largest terrestrial invertebrates in the world.

They're great colonizers.

They can carry coconuts up to 5 Km to their favourite den.

They're the only animals that can break open a coconut.

An adult coconut crab can drown in minutes.

Female crabs lay their eggs in water despite that they can't swim.
